Major dealer group Count Financial has succeeded in recruiting van Eyk Research’s general counsel and company secretary, Anna Smith, to its ranks.

Count announced the appointment to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and said it would boost its compliance, regulatory and legal capabilities among others.

Chief executive Andrew Gale announced the appointment of Anna Smith to the role of general counsel and senior executive, corporate affairs. Smith takes on the role next month and will be responsible for compliance, quality assurance, licensee and regulatory issues, legal and human resources.

Smith has 29 years of experience in the industry, which includes 16 years as a lawyer. She has served as general counsel and company secretary at van Eyk Research since 2005.
