Bowen to keynote at FSC Conference
The Financial Services Council (FSC) has secured the Treasurer, Chris Bowen, as the keynote speaker for the opening plenary at its annual conference starting in Brisbane on 31 July.
Bowen represents a significant replacement for the previously intended keynote speaker, the former minister for Financial Services, Bill Shorten, who lost the portfolio in the Cabinet reshuffle which followed the reappointment of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister.
The conference will also hear from the Shadow Assistant Treasurer, Senator Mathias Cormann, and from senior executives of the major regulators.
Amid continuing discussion around dealing with churn in the life/risk space, the conference will also be presented with new research covering Australia's under-insurance problem, along with new research around value of advice in the context of the recently implemented Future of Financial Advice changes.
