Avenir wins UK award

Sydney-based hedge fund manager Avenir Capital has picked up an international award - 2014 Absolute Return Fund Manager of the Year, Australia - at the UK's International Hedge Fund Awards.
Avenir chief executive Adrian Warner attributed the award to the fund manager having followed a sensible, thoughtful and low risk investment program.
Warner said Avenir had sought to adopt a different approach by avoiding short-termism and the industry's traditional approach based on relative performance.
He also pointed to the funds fee structure under which investors paid nothing unless returns exceeded 6 per cent.
