Alta Vista launches ETF model portfolio
Independent research house Alta Vista Research has launched an Australian Tactical Allocation Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF)-only model portfolio.
Announcing the move this week, the company said the model portfolio represented an add-on to its pre-existing Global Tactical Allocation model.
The company said its approach to constructing ETF model portfolios was not specifically different to that of any asset manager in that it was rules-based and research driven.
However, it said it differed from the mainstream because it only used ETFs, re-balanced monthly and did not hold any active cash positions.
Alta Vista said the Australian Tactical Allocation Portfolio was benchmarked against the ASX200 Accumulation Index and aimed to outperform its benchmark over the longer term.
