Libertas launches accountant licensing package
Non-aligned and independently-owned dealer group, Libertas Financial Planning, has launched an accountants' licensing package, with software that guides accountants through the compliance process and creates statements of advice (SOA) for their clients.
It comes in light of the impending deadline of 1 July when the accountants' exemption for advising on self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) will be scrapped.
The licensee currently has 60 authorised representatives under the banner with director, Mark Euvrard, stating that the offer would appeal to accountants looking for a non-aligned licensee with no product ties.
He added that the firm was not looking to attract hundreds of accountants.
"We're selective and accountants should be too. Large complex practices probably won't fit our model. However, sole or small specialist practices with a similar cultural and philosophical fit will feel at home with us," Euvrard said.
The software also includes client letter templates to use for unlicensed accounting work when providing tax and compliance advice, he added.
Education partners, Kaplan, can assist accountants in obtaining the accountant authority by helping them with RG146 compliance, while discounts and options are available for those who have not completed the financial planning, superannuation and SMSF units.
