Steve Helmich recognised for Lifetime Achievement
With a career spanning more than 40 years in the Australian financial services industry, the former executive director of Financial Planning at AMP Limited, Steve Helmich, has been awarded the Money Management Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Fund Manager of the Year Awards.
In being named to receive the award, Helmich joins a distinguished roll call of recipients which include the late Gwen Fletcher, Count Financial founder, Barry Lambert, distinguished researcher, Stephen van Eyk and Platinum Asset Management founder, Kerr Neilson.
Helmich departed AMP Limited late last year after spending most of his working life with the company, starting out as a junior new business clerk in 1973 before rising to hold a succession of senior executive positions within the business.
Well-known to the financial planning community, Helmich became a life member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) in 2007.
Since departing AMP last year, Helmich has moved to become chairman of TAL's Affinia Group.
