MFS acquisition delivers child care exposure
MFS Limited has moved to increase its exposure to the domestic tourism and leisure sectors with the acquisition of a significant stake in Queensland-based Sunleisure Group.
The investment group has also moved to gain exposure in the child care and education sectors.
The Sunleisure Group manages a number of hotels in Queensland, and MFS announced that it would be acquiring a 49.9 per cent interest in the group along with 49.9 per cent of child care centre group Sunkids, which operates facilities in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
MFS said the Sunkids transaction introduced it to what it regarded as a growth business sector that would allow it to move to establish more managed funds in the education and child care sector over time.
